On Thursday 27th July 2023, a special service of commemoration to mark the 70th Anniversary of the signing of the Korean War Armistice Agreement was held at Horse Guards Parade in London.

At the event, His Excellency Ambassador Yoon paid tribute to British veterans of the Korean War on behalf of the Korean government.

During his speech, Ambassador Yoon said:

“The brave British troops.....Their courage and dedication laid the foundation for the Republic of Korea we know today - a vibrant, prosperous and democratic nation. We shall never forget their sacrifice and I express my deepest gratitude to the UK veterans of the Korean War. I am proud to be able to tell you that their sacrifice has not been in vain". 

“We are reminded of the sacrifices made, the lives lost, and the enduring spirit of those who fought for freedom”.
