Ambassador Yoon Yeocheol attended the Korean War Memorial wreath laying ceremony on the morning of September 27 (Wednesday) along with Minister of Foreign Affairs Park Jin, who was on an official visit to the UK.

We express our deepest respect for the bravery and dedication of more than 81,000 British soldiers who fought to protect liberal democracy and peace in the Republic of Korea during the Korean War so that a free and prosperous Republic of Korea can exist today. Korea rose from the ashes of war 70 years ago and is now pursuing its vision of becoming a Global Pivotal State (GPS) to promote universal values and the rules-based order in the international community, working closely with partners including the UK. We are confident that we will build a deeper friendship in the future based on the values shared between Korea and the UK.
